Magnolia is a small town in Texas with a population of about 4,000. Once known for its timber and lumber mills, Magnolia has evolved into an attractive tourist destination and a great place to raise a family or settle into retirement.
 
Magnolia's history dates back to the early 1800s when it was founded as the first commercial center for the area by American pioneers from Tennessee. The town was named after magnolias that grew in abundance along nearby bayous and creeks.
 
Today, residents enjoy Magnolia's calming atmosphere and laid-back way of life. However, locals will tell you there's always plenty to do, from camping, hiking, and cycling to community events, shopping, and incredible dining.

The famed Farmers Market on Tamina hosts 40+ vendors weekly and has been serving Magnolia since 2016. A community favorite, this family-friendly event has all kinds of artisans, baked goods, and farm-to-table food for you to stock up on weekly.
 

Things to Do

The Historical Magnolia Depot Plaza is run by the Magnolia Historical Society and celebrates the town's rich railroad history. It also provides education about the community and hosts many year-round events like the acclaimed Magnolia Depot Day. Visitors and locals enjoy games, rides, crafts, and food that are great for the whole family.
 
The Texas Renaissance Festival is a fall favorite for Magnolia. Residents enjoy over a month of performances and fun fair activities like jousting, pub crawls, and the one-of-a-kind King's Feast dinner theater event. In February, you'll find locals at Mardi Gras on the Stroll celebrating Fat Tuesday the Texas way with a parade, drinks, and lots of entertainment.
 
Unity Park is the best way to enjoy Magnolia's warm climate and beautiful outdoors. There's an amphitheater for outdoor concerts and shows, tennis courts, a volleyball court, and great picnic areas for the perfect day out in nature.
